Great Travel Moment

Here's a sight in the Cloud Forest that most tourists don't get to see. Years ago, this could have been the home of a wealthy Inca family. After completing the most difficult project of my career in Argentina, I needed to go someplace peaceful and decompress my brain. I can't imagine a better place than the Inca Trail in Peru. It was absolutely surreal! I was fortunate enough to break away from the pack of other hikers and found myself in this magical place with no one but me, my guide and the two men who literally ran up the mountain carrying our things. While the other hikers camped in large groups at campsites, we went off the trail and camped at the foot of these ruins. The only sounds for miles other than our crackling campfire were that of exotic birds and other creatures stirring in the jungle night.
