Great Travel Moment

My husband and I visited Death Valley in June 2009 and were lucky enough to have great weather, not too hot, which is not always the case in Death Valley in June. I never thought Death Valley would be so beautiful. I always thought it was mostly desert and desolate and I was very surprised by the mountains and beauty. There is something eerily alluring about the desert landscape. Who knew there was a Spanish style castle in the middle of the desert? It's called Scottie's Castle and the architecture was beautiful. I don't think it rains often in Death Valley but it was a little stormy that day and it made it quite memorable.
