Great Travel Moment Worm's Head from the Rhossili Cliffs on the Gower peninsula in Southern Wales. It is a warm winter day in February 2008 and my companion and I hiked along Rhossili Beach and up to this vantage point. The road ends at a livestock gate and the white puffs of sheep steadily graze in fields and down hillsides. There is a couple in the far distance, walking toward the Worm's Head causeway -- a rock bridge accessible only at high tide. In the distance, Worm's Head sits like a dragon half-submerged in the sea. We called it Escape to Wales -- a weekend of leaving business school assignments behind and getting back to nature and the seashore. We started our adventure here amongst pounding surf, scent of salt and a bright sky. This photograph captures the rugged beauty of the Welsh coastline and lifestyle. |
