Great Travel Moment

Remains of an Australian bushfire stand like warriors in a beautiful blue light. The tree in the foreground seems a guardian of the forest, with a bark of textured waves weaving in contrast to the thin smooth trunks extending into an invisible distance beyond. A bushfire is a journey of changing landscapes. At its height, reds and oranges create a luminescence with shadows soft as breath. When the sun's rays are diffused by smoke, golden evening light appears in the heat of midday. It has the same enchanting quality of evening light but it is filled with fire. In the aftermath is when a blue light might emerge, when all is silent but for tiny fires crackling. This moment is significant to me because I witnessed nature renewing herself in perfect balance, deepening my understanding of creation emerging from destruction.
