Great Travel Moment I took this photograph while walking through a towering eucalyptus forest on Moreton Island of Australia. The colors were of dusk, the treetops still glistening in the sunlight. This image was shot on slide film but when I took it in to be scanned to cd, it was treated as a negative film. The positive was processed as a negative and the results are alluring. The trees move from sepia toned to white against a black sky, a very different forest to the one I experienced in reality. Yet the scale is still present and this was the most important part of the image. It was a moment of humility when I noticed my size in comparison to the trees around me. Trees that have been living for many of my lifetimes shelter me, soothe me, and teach me in their grandeur. |
