Great Travel Moment This rarely happens, but it happened for us. Equipped with stern warnings about the precarious Patagonian weather, 50 lb backpacks and a great big sense of adventure, we entered Torres del Paine National Park unsure of what to expect. This was the scene that greeted us: a clear and flawless view of the famous mountains that were home to the "W", a "real" hiker's paradise trail. We'd been in the region for long enough to know that the equivalent of 4 seasons could take place in one day, but in a stroke of divine luck, this sunny, crisp, pristine temperament lasted us all 6 days of the hike. And what an unforgettable 6 days they were. |
