Great Travel Moment We've always had this picture of my grandfather, who died before I was born, standing in front of Machu Picchu. It always seemed like a dream to visit this sacred place in the mountains. Growing up poor, my mom always told us to have patience, that one day we'd be able to visit this special place. I've looked forward to it all my life. In 2006 I graduated college, turned 25, and marked this year to visit Machu Picchu no matter what! We all saved and made the trip possible that August. I will never forget the feeling of being up so high, seeing so much incredible green beauty, wild llamas roaming free and the sacred Incan ruins of the Andes. My heart was filled with joy, to finally experience this place with my family that I love. I actually made a life goal come true. |
