Great Travel Moment After Junior year abroad in Paris I spent a few weeks traveling to places I hadn't visited. Though I had been told by some that Venice was a city to visit with a lover I decided that it was better to experience it alone first, THEN bring a lover and rediscover it together. I spent a week wandering and getting lost in the uneven narrow streets, coming upon piazzas that would inevitably look familiar regardless of whether or not I had actually been there before. I rarely used my map; it was nicer to just explore. One afternoon I found the fish market which was apparently closed that day. The red curtains flapped in the wind and I stood and took in the salty briny smell. Looking at this picture brings me back to that feeling of wonderful calm even within the bustling maze of a city like Venice. |
