Great Travel Moment This trip was quite the adventure; a prop plane from the Tijuana Airport, landing on a dirt strip in San Ignacio and a 20 min boat ride to our camp transported me to tranquility. Nothing but a small group of people, tents to sleep in and boats to go out on the lagoon twice daily. It is very hard to describe what it is like to touch a whale in its own habitat. I have been forever changed by the fact that these whales want to come up to our boats and appear to want to be touched! You are excited, but a little scared since they are bigger that the boat you are in! It brought my sense of perspective back in line and helped me really get the phrase don't sweat the small stuff. Besides, how many people do you know that have touched a whale! |
