Great Travel Moment This memory is special to me because it was the first time I went to out of the country without family. I felt a certain sense of independence. Being in South Korea was surreal for me. For one, the areas I visited were clean. It did not even feel like I traveled 14 hours over the Pacific Ocean. I still savor the timeliness, the cleanliness, the modern buildings, the vast variety of food and shopping. Koreans were very friendly and very proper, even the drunk men in the subway stations. While I was there, it rained almost all the days except for the last day we were there. But the rain did not stop me from going out to see the different areas of Seoul like the artsy area of Insadong. Seoul was a modern city but keeping tradition alive as well. |
