Great Travel Moment

This monkey shared a remarkable travel moment with me, one that I hold close in my awareness. He was incredibly curious, perched on a branch above me for several minutes. We had been looking at one another for a long time when I extended out my hand slightly. After a stretch of eye contact, trust was decided. The monkey reached out and wrapped his leathery palm around my finger. He looked into my eyes for a moment and then abruptly released my hand and bounded back into the forest. A profound moment of communication without words and between two species stays with me. This photograph allows me to remember his eyes, windows into curiosity and trust. Our mind's image of eyes might fade but I will never forget the feeling of his palm's grasp, so much like our own.
