Great Travel Moment I was visiting Mumbai, India to do in-home ethnographic research. I had spent 3 days visiting residents in shacks with open sewers and no running water. It was very depressing but at the end of the 3rd day I walked out into a courtyard with several shacks built around it. I heard children laughing and saw them playing with their father. My heart instantly lightened and so I walked over to speak with them. They seemed so happy and full of love even though their living conditions were terrible. This drove home to me that there is much more in life than material things. |
