Great Travel Moment I lived in Northern Ireland for a couple of years pursing a degree in photography. While I was there I made a point to travel and intimately experience the countryside. My husband, fiancee at the time, and a couple friends piled into Irish Dave's blue bug to visit Newgrange for the weekend. This ancient burial sight was tucked away on a farmer's land next to a sheep field. Dave's car broke down upon arrival and the hospitable Irish farmer let it cool down at his farm. We asked if there was a place to camp and he let us set up in the sheep field, a stone's throw from the Stone Age Tomb site. The two days we spent there were magical, far from the tourist perspective of this historical sight, we felt connected to this place. |
