Great Travel Moment After a humid night spent battling mosquitoes and giant tropical roaches aboard a houseboat, I was ready to catch the first flight out of Cochin and back to Delhi, where my boyfriend and I were living and working. But at dawn, as the houseboat pulled out into the open waters of Kumarakom lake by whose shores we'd slept, I was overwhelmed by the beauty of what I saw. Fishermen in their slender boats, quietly prodding the waters, all turned into shadows and shimmers by the bright sun. With the palms swaying in the hazy distance and the fresh morning breeze on my face, I couldn't help but fall in love with Kerala. |
