Great Travel Moment On the last night of our photo safari in South Africa our ranger arranged a "sundowner" for the group in the middle of the game preserve. One the more memorable things about that part of the world was the sunset. The sunsets there were like none I've seen to date. They are gorgeous and shrouded by unique cloud cover caused by anomalies in the sea currents, our ranger informed us. Looking at this while having a few drinks and snacks, listening to the sounds of African wildlife in the night, I just felt like we were living with the wildlife. Coupled with the fact that there are predators which are most active at night, and immediately send you near the bottom of the food chain, it was sort of surreal. I felt very close to nature and natural history at that moment. |
