Great Travel Moment

What started out as merely an opportunity to feel like a local at a fútbol match developed into one of the best nights of my life. FC Barcelona celebrated its two recent titles after an otherwise meaningless match with a wild celebration, part of which is shown in the photo. The enthusiasm, spirit, and passion present in the stadium and streaming outside after the match was amazing to behold and participate in. I have never felt so connected with another group of people, which is especially remarkable since I couldn't speak but a few words of Catalan to any of them. The joy and pride on display this evening was warmly palpable. Even though our hotel was several miles away, my wife and I happily joined the cascade of fans parading down the street after the match so as to prolong the amazing experience for as long as possible.
