Great Travel Moment I took this photo on my fourth visit to the Dominican Republic. On this trip, my husband and I led a team of 17 other people to help us serve the poor in the town of Sosua. One of the team members showed these two boys how to make friendship bracelets out of three strands of yarn. They loved the activity so much, they made several bracelets to share and give away. I love the warmth and hospitality of the people in the Dominican Republic. These two boys, by making and giving away friendship bracelets, are the epitome of the love and community I experience on every trip. Even though many of my Dominican friends live in rough wood or concrete shacks like the one behind the boys, they give away more than I can with my American money and possessions. |
