Great Travel Moment

I was wrapping up a visit to Giza's pyramids and the Sphinx and was ready to return to my hotel on Zamalek island, when I saw this incredible picture opportunity: the spanking new condominiums with the ancient pyramids in the background. This is just not your common Giza snapshot with the sand dunes and the camels usually shown around this only standing wonder of the ancient world, I thought. If it wasn't for the hundreds of busses full of thousands of misbehaving Russians tearing through here every day of the year, this surely would be a nice place to come home to after a hard day's work. You'd just kick back on your balcony with a glass of Pinot Noir and wonder what would the pharaohs think of how Egypt turned out in only a few millenia ...
