Great Travel Moment

Trieste is famous for its cafes where people sit for hours enjoying coffee and wine, reading the paper and chatting. One morning I stopped at Caffe' degli Specchi in Piazza Unita d'Italia for a coffee. While I sat an elderly gentleman whose clothes were a bit worn came in. He was clearly a regular. After ordering his coffee, he sat down and was staring at his hat for some time. I wondered what was on his mind and felt his loneliness.
