Great Travel Moment

During a recent trip aboard the Celebrity Xpedition to the Galapagos, we visited Puerto Ayora, on Santa Cruz island. After visiting the Darwin Research Station, and on our way back to the zodiac, we came across the cleaning station for local fisherman. The fisherman in the photo was cleaning his catch and would toss pieces to the gulls, pelicans, and the sea lion. The fisherman was incredibly gentle with the sea lion; and the sea lion had impeccable manners. He would inch up to the fish, with his nose as close as he could get, and yet not snatch it off the table. The fisherman would gently tap the table with the handle of his knife and the sea lion would back off. The sea lion would patiently wait until he got his treat. It was terrific just to see the interaction between the two. It was one of the special moments of a spectacular trip.
