Great Travel Moment I'm sitting in the exact spot where my mom held me for the last time. It was July 28th, the night before my departure to Morocco and my mother, who'd been battling pancreatic cancer for 3.5 years asked me to let her hold me like she used to when I was young because she wasn't sure if she'd still be here when I returned. I'd been invited to attend two of my best friend's wedding. I'd never been to a Muslim wedding, let alone in Morocco. I knew, and my mom knew, it was the opportunity of a lifetime and her advice was: "You have to go. I want you to live your life to the fullest and take every opportunity you get to see the world because I never got to." She passed away on August 4th, 1 day after my return. Now, she's seeing the world through me. |
