Great Travel Moment Seven minutes to California's heaven on earth. A smooth gondola flight through a crisp, sunny, blue-skied pathway to the summit of Mammoth Mountain, soaring 11,053 feet into the air. Panoramic views, all around, of the surrounding Eastern Sierra Mountains -- the Minarets, Mono Lake and Inyo National Forest. A serene, peaceful breath of fresh air. On this picturesque, breezy day during the 4th of July weekend, snow from the recent ski season still remained; wintery white but slowly melting away into trails geared for summer hiking and biking. The view through this wooden "window" was absolutely awe-inspiring and framed this moment in time just perfectly. |
