Great Travel Moment In the Latin quarter of Paris, I searched out the cafe Les Deux Magots. It was the perfect moment to envision Hemingway's ex-pat characters from A Movable Feast or The Sun Also Rises. The lights of Paris were glowing and the cafe was brimming with Parisians and tourists alike. I particularly sought out this cafe because it is the place where Hemingway and his ex-pat friends spent much of their leisure hours in Paris. And since I had previously visited Hemingway's homes in Oak Park, Illinois; Key West, Florida; and Ketchum, Idaho, I felt drawn to the cafe like a moth to a neon sign which in big, blue, humming letters spelled out Les Deux Magot. |
