Dream Trip 2009

Great Travel Moment

I spent two weeks on a whirlwind trip of Australia in early 2009 with my best friend. We had both been having a difficult time in our lives and were looking forward to some quality travel time. Upon arriving at the Great Barrier Reef, we were welcomed by perfect weather, an amazing beach, a beautiful sailboat...and warnings of box jellyfish, of which I was absolutely terrified. Strict rules were enforced for us to wear stinger suits, even if we only went wading in the water. The atmosphere was perfect, and we could not resist a quick dip in the clear, blue ocean. My friend was bolder than I, and she waltzed in and started jumping for joy, as seen in the photo. Together, we faced our fears, celebrated our freedom and agreed to live in the moment to ensure that we made the best of 2009!
