Great Travel Moment While I was growing up in central Canada, my father had a stressful job. His only escape was our weekend trips to a cottage on the Rideau Canal. From there, we would make boat trips to the locks at Jones Falls. We'd visit the blacksmith, and enjoy an ice cream cone on a hot afternoon. We eventually moved out west and never looked back. I became a business man, got married and had a son of my own. Very quickly, the pressures of my job had me yearning for the same escape that my father sought. So after 20 years, I travelled with my family back to that remote Ontario lake I had been dreaming about. And with my son at my side, we walked in the steps of my youth. As both a business and pleasure traveller, I?ve found that the best journey, is often the journey home. |
