Great Travel Moment The waves of the surly, cerulean sea look painted. Standing strikingly statuesque is Cozumel's Celarain Lighthouse. The Swine Flu cut this pristine island off from the rest of the world for awhile. The restrictions were lifted right before our arrival. We hopped into a taxi with our driver -- and soon to be "new best friend" -- Rufino. We simply wanted a ride to the Punta Sur Eco Park, but with business low he ended up spending the entire day with us! He was a HOOT! He shared pics of his grandkids, climbed the lighthouse, and went to the museum and beach with us. No, he didn't have a bathing suit with him in his taxi. He simply kicked off his shiny black dress shoes and was quite a site laying next to bikini clad tourists in his shirt, long black pants, and black dress socks -- snoring away. |
