Great Travel Moment

I was showing my husband Bill around my home town, Los Angeles, on Christmas Eve Day. At the Santa Monica Pier, where this shot was taken, we saw street performers and fishermen, families playing in the surf and even porpoises; a typical LA day at the beach. But the one thing we never found was the Santa Monica Aquarium! There were signs for it ON the pier, but no directions as to how to get there. Turns out it was in that building behind Bill (you know, the one with the huge whale paintings on it) but you have to leave the pier itself and approach from the south side parking lot to get in. We laughed a lot about that when we found out later...how could we miss a whole aquarium?? It was a beautiful day, in my favorite town, with my favorite person in the world; what could be better?
