Great Travel Moment

Upon our visit to Mae Hong Son, Thailand our guide drove us to a small shack by a river where he left us alone with a man and a lady who did not speak English. They motioned for us to put on lifesavers and get into their long wooden boat. We obeyed but were unsure where this journey would lead us. About 45 minutes later we arrived at a village on a hill. The sign read: Long Neck Village. The homes were a series of shacks and huts yet the village was quite clean and handsomely landscaped. The most memorable part of the adventure was talking to the long neck women and meeting the children in their school. These refugees from Camodia enjoy a simple way of life with their unique but traditional customs. Meeting them was the highlight of our trip, an experience to savor forever!
