Great Travel Moment

This image depicts a time of solace from travel across Kenya by bus for countless hours. After a cold night on rugged roads and a long day with daredevil bus drivers, we found the ocean. The sun was creeping towards the horizon and we decided to take an evening walk. Waves of high tide had left a ripple effect lingering long after their retreat. The light of a low sun reflected off the sand and small still pools where I could see the clouds and blue sky. This is a simple image of my friend walking towards the sea with a local dog we befriended. It reveals the emotion of a special travel moment for the growth of friendship and of discovery, in seeing the coast from a new continent for the first time and navigating through an unknown culture. We began barefoot on the sand.
