Great Travel Moment It had been a warm July evening in Chicago, with a cool breeze blowing in from Lake Michigan. The Taste of Chicago had been a treat for the taste buds. That night, during the Fourth of July fireworks, my boyfriend (now husband) proposed to me while we rode the Ferris Wheel on Navy Pier. After the proposal and a celebratory night with friends, we stayed in a majestic King Suite at the historic Hotel Intercontinental on the Magnificent Mile. The next day, we took in the rest of the city, which included a trip to the top of the John Hancock Building. The views of the city were magnificent, and with the clear skies, one could see for miles. Any time I see a photo or video clip of the Chicago skyline, I am reminded of that night of euphoria and love, and our once-in-a-lifetime trip to the Windy City. |
