Great Travel Moment We had already visited the major cities in Italy, Rome, Venice, and Florence and drove through Tuscany our way back to Rome. We had done the tourist thing; walked the Pantheon in Rome, climbed the Giotto Tower in Florence, and floated in a gondola in Venice. Now, it was time to stop for the night and rest in the little town of Pienza. While I walked the narrow streets of Pienza, I came across this scene of two men unloading fire wood from a small truck. I was struck by the smallness of the truck since I come from a land of SUV's, and snapped this shot. It's usually the photos of everyday life that I value the most upon my return from traveling. This is certainly true of this picture. It capture's the quiet pace of Pienza and shows the difference in our cultures. |
