Great Travel Moment Maha Shiva Ratri Dressed for the Temple we leave in anticipation wondering if we will be able to go inside the Temple and see the Shiva Linga. It is an auspicious day when Lord Shiva is worshipped. Many days of fasting and chanting have come before this day of celebration. Om Namah Shivaya Om Namah Shivaya Om Namah Shivaya We enter the temple, kneel to touch the entrance stone out of reverence and enter with bowed head. I hear the whispers and the prayers and the calls and the cries to Lord Shiva...moving closer within the crowed, the chants are stronger, more resonant and as I move to observe the deity, the Linga is revealed - potent, magical, promises for union with Shiva, creator and destroyer...he offers grace to the suffering world. Divine transcendence of opposites. Om Namah Shivaya |
