Great Travel Moment It is the must in Mexico to see and hear the traditional mariachi musicians. Mariachis are the most well-known and popular form of traditional entertainment in the capital and can be found in bars and restaurants throughout the city but the best place to find these unique entertainers is around the Plaza de Garibaldi. Playing a variety of music ranging from the greatest hits of Abba to Tchaikovsky's symphonies, they captivate audiences of all ages. Dressed in silver studded black suits, decorative short jackets and huge sombreros, the musicians wander the square and play their "rancheras" songs well into the night. Located at only few minutes from the Historical Centre, the Garibaldi Square is a charming place. It's liveliest at night, when at every corner guitars are stacked together like rifles in an army camp. |
