Great Travel Moment I took a weekend trip to Venice. Upon exiting the train station, I felt as though I was standing across the water from a fantasy world. I had read an article were the author compared Venice to Alice in Wonderland & now I understood why. This floating city, the many bridges, the quickly ending routes that aren't even marked on the map, & then you turn a corner and there is a small church tucked away or a petite piazza surrounded by brightly colored apartments. And then you come to this grand, open space, San Marco square, & this fantasy world culminates before you in the grandeur and ornateness of the Basilica di San Marco. As you walk within the square, all the while trying to avoid being taken out by pigeon, you are enlivened by the magic of Venice. This picture captures that magic because I initially was focusing on the Coca Cola ad & then upon returning home I discovered I had captured more than the ad, there was the reflection of Basilica di San Marco, an unexpected reflection. |
