Great Travel Moment Morning Gathering Friday, February 29, 2008 The sounds of India...whooping, quacking, whistling, cawing...many birds and sounds of the morning wildlife, like wake-up calls to the sleepy palm trees. The fog lifts from the lagoon. Birds, birds everywhere. The rooster crows in the distance. Tweet, tweet, tweet - the flocks of desperate cries from wayward wings...what do they speak? I sit in these early morning sounds...lush and frantic...insects, birds, animals...creating the sounds of a different kind of meditation...the crescent moon lingers in the transitional sky and the sun rises quickly...a worker on a bicycle passes by and I am reminded of the familiar sound of industrialization...metal and wheels...dusk creates more mourning madness. What is it that they are in such a hurry to accomplish before the sun rises? The pool invites. Greenery of palms and bamboo surround the private sanctuary of blue. Blue. |
