Great Travel Moment After hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, I felt like I had learned so much about the traditional ways of life in Peru. But, when we came to one of the villages in the Sacred Valley that has worked with local groups to keep alive some traditional crafts, we found several women weaving clothes and tapestry made from the alpaca fur. This woman's hands told a completely different story about tradition, history and culture. The worn lines of her hands set against the bright and fresh tapestry were amazing! It was one of those moments that you capture with a photograph and hope that it looks as real in the image as it did that very day you experienced it. |
