Great Travel Moment

This photo was taken during a trip to Moscow, just after I had been detained by the local police who spotted my cousin, friends and I as Americans and found that I had left a piece of paperwork back in our rooms. Every time I see it, I'm filled with a mixture of warm memories from what was overall a great trip, and a slight sense of dread and gratitude that our guide was able to keep the police from taking me to the local station! The trip was also just after one of our friends, Barry, had returned from his 2nd year-long deployment to Iraq, so the freedom that he defends meant so much more to me when we left Russia!
