Great Travel Moment

This was the first of two unexpected public celebrations we happened upon during our two week tour of Peru. It was our first day in Arequipa ("The White City"), and after checking into our hotel we wandered into the main square to have a look around. We were so surprised by what greeted us-- some sort of celebration being enjoyed by the vibrant locals. The plaza was packed full of celebrants, and it was easy to get caught up in the excitement. We watched as this particular woman was swept into an impromptu dance-- the joy on her face reflecting that felt by all of us fortunate enough to be there that day.
