Great Travel Moment My husband and I, his 3 children and their spouses converged in Peru from around the world (Hawaii, California and Israel) for a dream trip to Machu Picchu. When we arrived, we found out that the road through the Sacred Valley, leading from Cusco to Machu Picchu was closed due to a strike. Therefore, we had 2 extra days in Cusco until they cleared the roads. On this day, we separated for a few hours and I wandered the streets by myself. I became aware of music, so I went in search of the source and stumbled upon a parade of dancers, in full Peruvian costumes. I couldn't help giggling at my good fortune. I took many photos but I think this one is very special. Stopped in motion, the male dancer seems to mirror the crosses on the church behind him. He appears to be waving a flag of surrender and the clouds behind are illuminating him and lifting him up to heaven. |
