Great Travel Moment

This image represents a special travel moment because I could see myself in this older female monkey. I found her alone, looking into the light in the same way that I might savor the sun myself. As I passed by this small clearing in the forest I felt I had witnessed a quiet, private moment of an animal marveling at her world. I was privileged to watch her for some time, sitting silently as rays gently warmed her face. Truthfully, of course I can never know what she may have been thinking, but I felt connected to her in a shared experience of nature. Although I can only see her experience through the lens of my own, I imagine that the sun fills all animal species with warmth and joy.
