Great Travel Moment I generally don't like cities unless they were formed more than 200 years ago, but my family was forced to go to Waikiki because my husband had broken his neck on a neighboring island and was flown to Queens Hospital for surgery on Thanksgiving. The children and I spent most of our time by my husband's bedside, but the occasional foray outside was striking in it's natural beauty, even though we we were right in the heart of a large American city. BTW my husband was fortunate to have the best surgeons on the planet and has fully recovered. He walked into the water near our home in California, swam out, and went body surfing again just six months after we believed he would be permanently quadraplegic. |
