Great Travel Moment Visiting Paris for the first time on business, I arrived jet-lagged and lonely, being in "the city of love," without my love. I hadn't seen the Eiffel Tower, as I checked into the hotel and flopped into bed. However, in sleep, I pictured the Paris landmark clearly. tower in stark silhouette against the sunset, Seine across the foreground, and a crimson sky yielding to black velvet with sparkling jewels of light. Awakening at midday, I set out with my camera to find the dreamscape I had seen. Hours of wandering the riverbank finally led to the matching vista, overlooking the Alexander Bridge. However, sunset and night were hours away. So, I waited as Paris passed by. riverboats, playful couples, exquisite Parisians riding bicycles and scooters. I waited for "the perfect photo," and fell in love with Paris. |
