Great Travel Moment My husband and I, while in Hawaii for our wedding and honeymoon decided to walk an hour in the pouring rain (my suggestion of course) to get to the lookout for Kalalau Valley on the island of Kauai. It really seemed the trail would never end as we walked, soaking wet and I repeatedly assured my husband of 2 days.... "we're almost there..." and "it's not much further, I promise..". Motivated by the guide book's claim that this was a sight not to be missed, we forged on. Finally we made it to the lookout only to discover that there was a solid white wall of fog blocking any chance of a view. Having walked out in the pouring rain, we were not ready to accept defeat. We waited for about 5 minutes and as if by magic, the fog parted for a brief (very brief) moment and I was able to snap this shot.... The guide book was absolutely right. |
