Great Travel Moment

Because we live far from most of our eight grandchildren, we decided to take each on a foreign trip to a place of their choice for their eleventh birthday. This photo of our grandson Paul Burrowes was taken 7/16/06 at The Sphinx, Cairo Egypt. He had picked Egypt as the place he would most like to travel. We started in Cairo, then flew to Aswan and cruised down the Nile to Luxor. The trip enabled us to get to know him without other family members present, and gave him confidence about traveling far from home. It allowed us to see the sights of Egypt through the wondering eyes of an eleven year old on his first trip abroad. It provided memories to last a lifetime for both Paul and us. He returned to school with tales to tell about the trip and also shared them with other classes in school.
