Great Travel Moment This picture is from the first day that my family and I arrived in Rome, Italy. I still remember the drive into the city and admiring all of the buildings made of stucco and the beautiful green hills. It was so special to me since it was the first time that I had traveled to a non-English speaking country. I had been studying the early Romans in school in my Latin class, and was able to recognize many of the landmarks that we came across. Seeing the ancient columns was like walking into a fairy tale that I had known so much about and was just now seeing for the first time. I especially love this picture because of the Peace parade that was going on that day, which you can see behind the ancient ruins. |
