Great Travel Moment This picture is from the first day that my family and I arrived in Rome, Italy. I still remember the drive into the city and admiring all of the buildings made of stucco and the beautiful green hills. It was so special to me since it was the first time that I had traveled to a non-English speaking country. I had been studying the early Romans in school in my Latin class, and was able to recognize many of the landmarks that we came across. It was unreal to see the ancient ruins and buildings that I had been learning about for years?how they were made, what events happened in them, and all of the other history surrounding these special places. This picture is of the Castel Sant?Angelo, and looked formidable and breathtaking with the overcast sky. |
