Great Travel Moment This photo marked the most gratifying moment of my cursed trip to Honduras, where I was backpacking alone for three weeks. The day I left Toronto, my beloved cat was diagnosed with cancer (and died three days later). Four days after arriving in Honduras, I sprained my ankle. The last week of my trip was going to be spent on the beaches of Roatan, but a tropical storm interfered, leaving me hostel-ridden for six days. My disappointment and regret for leaving my cat was inexpressible. Finally, on my last full day there, the clouds disappeared. I spent an unbelievably beautiful day, with the aquamarine waters proving that idyllic settings really do exist. I took this photo as I was in the water taxi on my way to the hostel. The perfect sunset to end the perfect beach day. At this moment, I knew all of the troubles were worth it. |
