Great Travel Moment We were very fortunate to be at the top of the Space Needle in Seattle on a day when the view of the city was crystal clear. The docent at the top told us that most of the time Mount Rainier is either shrouded in fog, or its raining in Seattle and the mountain isn't visible at all. But this day we had a glorious and beautiful view of both downtown Seattle and the mountain. To my great surprise and disbelief, when I looked at the photo I had just taken it appeared that the mountain was floating over the city! This is not a doctored digital photograph. A temperature inversion created what is, to me, one of the most memorable photographs I have ever taken. |
