Great Travel Moment When I traveled to Eastern Tibet in 2004, I witnessed a rare opening of a new monastery there and participated in the festivities. The miles and miles of barren scenery came alive with colorful banners with Tibetans villagers in beautiful custumes singing and dancing in celebration. It was an awesome sight. I can still hear the music, cheers and laughters. More memorable was the devotion of the village people in their heartfelt offerings of song and dance and the lamas' compassion and tenderness towards others. |
