Great Travel Moment After 40 years I was able to return to Zimbabwe with my wife and son. I was 7 when I was last there. I remember the smell of the water and earth. There is nowhere like it anywhere in the world. Not only was the beauty stunning but the memories of my childhood almost brought me to my knees. The roar of the falls is unbelievable and you have to shout to be heard. This was the mighty Zambezi River and miles downstream where it empties into Kariba Lake, I lived and played as a child. Before this trip was over, we hired a taxi driver who took us to that spot on the escarpment where I grew up. Truly an amazing trip! |
